Description
Meet your guide at the place of your stay in Cesky Krumlov. Take a walk around the Old Town viewpoints and head to Krizovy Vrch hill.
First climb takes us through the picturesque castle courtyards to reach the connecting bridge between the palace and the Baroque theatre. Let’s enjoy stunning views of the old town and the Vltava river meandering through the old town below. We continue up to the castle gardens with a stop at the view terrace at the top gate of the Český Krumlov castle. Our hike continues down to the village of Plesivec along the old former fortifications. It is very quiet part of Český Krumlov where locals live and walk their dogs and through the outskirts of the old town we reach the city park and walk along the Vltava riverside with stunning views down to the former Rybářská (Fisherman) Street, St. Vít Church, House of Prelate and former Jesuit School.
We continue towards the former synagogue and climb down the Vltava river around Egon Schiele’s summer house. Now we start our hike up to Krizovy vrch meanwhile enjoying quiet neighbourhoods of Horní Brána. After some 20 minute we reach “Križák” as locals call the hill with its 1700’s chapel. Views from Križák are breathtaking: the Český Krumlov castle, old town and the surroundings of Blanský les highlands. One feels like in the middle of nowhere surrounded by meadows and forest yet a step away from Český Krumlov busy old town square, Latrán Street and the castle.
Way back to the Český Krumlov old town is fast, we follow Jesus Christ stations of the cross monument. In 15 minutes we reach the final highlight of this 4 hour scenic tour of Český Krumlov – the former Jesuit Seminary garden.
